It is quite heartwrenching that a large part of our society face the grief and horror of witnessing their children fall prey to autism. with no liveliness and little interactivity, our little ones seem to dry up in seclusion. the worst part is that even after so much advancements in science and technology, we have failed to dig out the actual cause of this disease. Though, there are a number of possible reasons which seem to be at the roots of this nuisance. let's share our experiences, queries, findings and cases so that we can help curb out autism which sucks out the liveliness from our kids. Parents, teachers, doctors, researchers and everyone else who have had a brush with this disease or patients can join in and contribute their notions about autism.

Is autism and asperger's disease one and the same thing? I think kids suffering from asperger exhibit
similar symptoms as in autism.

Kathy Parker    on Apr 17 2009 3:54AM Says :
Asperger's syndrome and autism are both on the spectrum of Autism Disorder.symptoms include, which echolalia (repeating words said by others), abnormal social behavior, restricted range of interest, poor motor coordination and self-stimulating behavior.

but the diference lies in the fact that asperger is a milder form of autism. kids with asperger don't have communication delays as people with other forms of autism have, they function relatively well in terms of intelligence and social functions, and they often manage to go to school, graduate from colleges and live independently. On the negative part, these kids grwo up with poor social skills, overly formal language and abnormally extensive interest in specific subjects.

I read somewhere that geniuses and people with asperger's share same characteristics. How true is that? more shockingly, it's said that Einstein was an asperger's patient.

what you have read is almost totally correct. it is said that take out asperger and you take out creativity. It is because ppl suffering from autism and asperger have narrow, focussed interest. they dont sit patiently, until the job they take up is accomplished. not only Einstein but other geniuses of his cadre had asperger like Isaac Newton, napolean bonaparte, benjamin franklin, george washington and yes, even george bush is believed to have asperger.
