Drugs Prednisolone 25mg 3x/day Irbesartan 150mg Lansoprazole 30mg Asprin x2/day Statin
Slide 3 :
Prednisolone A powerful corticosteroid. Used in skin diseases, rheumatic disorders and some allergies. Taken either in tablet form or can be injected. Currently being taken for his suspected bells palsy. Weakness, weight gain, and indigestion commonly experienced. (Henry 2004)
Slide 4 :
Irbesartan An Angiotensin-II receptor antagonist. Responsible for vasodilatation so used to treat hypertension. Commonly taken in tablet form Side effects commonly include dizziness, fatigue, flushing and a rash. (Henry 2004)
Slide 5 :
Lansoprazole A proton-pump inhibitor. Used to treat peptic ulcers and GORD. Most often taken in capsules or in solution. Side effects commonly include dizziness, headache, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. (Henry 2004)
Slide 6 :
Apsrin A non-opiod analgesic. Used widely to treat pain, reduces fever and helps to prevent blood clots, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Side effects include nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. (Henry 2004)
Slide 7 :
Statin Are responsible for reducing blood cholesterol. Example include Atorvastatin and Simvastatin. Taken in tablet form. Side effects include Nausea, headache, rashes, joint pain and weakness. (Henry 2004)
