Slide 1 : Is Hyperdynamic Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction a Poor Prognostic Factor? Vinod Raxwal, Lalit Verma, Dhanunjaya Lakkireddy, James Vacek, David Wilson, Robert Candipan, Peter Tadros
Slide 2 : Background Left ventricular function is an important factor to predict mortality in patients. However it has not been well studied if hyperdynamic left ventricular ejection fraction has the same prognosis as normal left ventricular ejection fraction.
Slide 3 : Methods We studied 11469 patients undergoing exercise stress echocardiogram at Kansas university medical center. Patients with EF (>55%) were included in the study.
Slide 4 : Exclusion criteria mitral regurgitation aortic regurgitation greater then mild tricuspid insufficiency or greater then mild pulmonary insufficiency, enlarged left ventricular end diastolic dimension (female >5.3 cm, male >5.9 cm).
Slide 5 : Methods Patients were stratified into 2 groups normal LVEF 55-65% (n=11131) hyperdynamic LVEF >65% (n=338).
